UNION-MADE POST PUNK FOR THE FUNCTIONING APOCALYPSE
Since forming in 2021, California's LOCAL BYLAWS have harnessed pure energy into their brand of ferocious, female-fronted punk rock. Having met online, they found an easy alliance when they realized they were all union workers (a UBC carpenter, an IBEW electrician, and a SAG-AFTRA actress), and this connection translated well into the music, lending an all-for-one ethos to their blue collar, glam-yet-gritty debut EP, Working Agreement.
The new full-length album boasts a more mature sound, equal parts distortion and harmony, drum-heavy and lyrically dense, but still poppy enough to sing along to. Recorded with Ryan Perras (Dan Andriano, Lektron, Asian Man Records), and mixed & mastered by Jack Shirley (Jeff Rosenstock, Deafheaven), the LP, Lost the Plot, is currently being released song by song on all streaming services.
