Nicole Mendes of The Other Side Reviews had some nice things to say about Local Bylaws after listening to the new single "Benton," which was the site's Track of the Day.
Said Mendes, "I can definitely hear the similarity to No Doubt, but a contemporary edginess is woven into the old-school pop-punk. What I truly love about ‘Benton’ is the way they insert sweet, grin-inducing vibes into a chaotic mishmash of instruments. To my ears, there is a sweetness to Pennington’s vocal tones; however, the crash of frenzied instruments around it induces a manic sensation."
